I’ve been looking for a blog app I could run on my own server. Not because I don’t already have a monstrous amount of shit on my server, but because sometimes Blogger or HaloScan are down and that pisses me off to no end.
When I want to view or edit my blog, I want to view or edit my blog. Period. I don’t want to be dealin’ with lag time or net congestion or any of that other gay shit. I WANT ON NOW.
So I’ve been digging for a free (or even cheap) script I could run on my site. I fell in love with this little package, but I couldn’t find a copy anywhere.
Then I decided I’d check out Movabletype. It’s free, it’s trick, and how hard can it possibly be to install?
It wasn’t that hard, and now I’m posting my first post. This app should provide me (and you) hours of fun. Now I’m off to learn how, exactly, to use it. Wish me luck designing a gorgeous template; the default is fairly hideous!

Here am I, testing the new comments system.
The new blog format kicks major heiney. The one you just got rid of loaded really slowly; this one loads instantaneously.
