Target pays low wages, withholds benefits, treats their employees and the communities they operate in like shit, and they store their (well, really our) wealth offshore to avoid paying their fair share of taxes.

Ditto Walmart and Home Depot and all those other massive chains. FUCK THOSE BUSINESSES. THEY ARE NOT GOOD CITIZENS, AND THEY DO NOT DESERVE ANYTHING: Not our respect, not our protection, not our grief, and absolutely not our bailouts.

Fuck them. Fuck every one of those society-looting, conscienceless motherfuckers. They do not operate in good faith.

They’re the enemies of healthy society: they stand in clear opposition to prosperity, dignity, and beauty. Their business model is to suck wealth out of communities, destroying Main Street in the process, and have the government (read: us) subsidize them in two ways: welfare for their under-compensated employees, and tax cuts and bailouts for themselves.

They “operate” in communities, they don’t BELONG to them. Their charity work is insulting and lacks sincerity and local knowledge; a few grand for a local ball team or park is for publicity, it doesn’t begin to put back what they take out and is never what is actually needed. There is, in short, no love.

If any of them had ever actually given a shit about anything but money they’d have been the sort of neighbors people care about, love, and protect. And being a good neighbor would have been easy with all that wealth, but nope.

So: fuck them. These corporations are not successful, they are not good, and they are not true. They are MONSTERS.

Get your Martha Stewart lamp set, your new bicycle, your flat screen TV. And burn their ugly, shitty, industrial prison complex infrastructure to the ground when you’re done; we’ll bulldoze it into a park later.

Then go find an abandoned store front on Main, and open a bodega or sandwich counter or appliance repair shop or hardware store or shoe store or linen store or any of the stores we used to have before Walmarts and Targets.

And whenever somebody says “but what about parking?” just smack them upside the head. They’ll either walk or get a bike or starve. Fuck cars, fuck parking, fuck strip malls, fuck ugly architecture, fuck corporations, fuck transnationals, fuck CEO bonuses, fuck greed, fuck hate, fuck ALL this.
