During today’s company meeting, RB projected this onto the wall for everyone to see. (I nearly peed myself FOR THE FOURTH TIME, Keef. Thx ever so much for the link!) The Website Is Down is some of the funniest shit I have ever seen, EVAR. OMG it just totally makes me giggle OUT LOUD.
Tomorrow, my band’s doing a leukemia benefit in the Tri-cities, which is good. But we go on at 5pm and it’s an outdoor gig with no cover and the weather’s supposed to be 102 degrees, which is bad.
Yeah, one hundred and two degrees. Triple digit weather, bitches! …Um, does anybody have a white parasol I can borrow?

*eyeOS is a web-based desktop replacement. It does everything your desktop computer does, including run applications and store documents, except it’s on a web server, accessible – through a browser – from any ‘net-connected machine. It essentially represents a move back to dumb terminals, with the Internet as the mother of all mainframes.

Here it has rained all night. Every time I woke up it was tinkling on the roof. And it’s 50F. Very comfortable, my kind of weather.
Grew up in Kennewick (one of the Tri-Cities) where we had 120F in the shade half the summer. OK when you’re a kid, hate it as you grow older. It’s the freakin’ desert!
That’s a big reason why we (my family, when I was 15) moved to Walla Walla, about 10F cooler there then the Tri-Cities on your average day. Cool thing was the high school had a fast food restaurant run by the seniors right in the school! We had milk shakes and burgers and fries, oh my! What a great school.
C pointed me to ‘the website is down’ yesterday – we were both glued to the ‘puter for the whole show. What better snippet as a diorama for Life As We Know It? (In our support roles, anyway.)
Also – chopped off my hair, thanks to your ground-breaking ways. (Your ‘do inspired me to just do it, already.) Will post pics soon. “Soon,” relatively.

Standard eyeOS is using iframes, so your browser is doing all the requests – with your IT’s knowledge.
If you want to provide something like an anonymizer you should install an application like link text on your servers.
