In which time is not on my side.

When I first decided to go to GBM, I checked kayak.com for flight prices. It was $408 round-trip, including taxes. I didn’t buy because first I had to submit my time off request at work.

At the 6-week pre-travel mark the price for the very same flights went up to $438, and was still there yesterday.

I would have booked my flight yesterday when I got my time-off request approved, but Java had crashed on my machine so I couldn’t navigate the Alaska Airlines site and I was too busy to reboot.

Today I went to book my flight, and in the past 24 hours the very same itinerary has gone up to $602. Crap.

Looks like I’ll be altering my travel dates to March 14-18. Because I ain’t paying no six hundred dollars for airfare.

I’m having the same problem booking tickets to FF in July. Every day I wait for Adam to get time off approved the price goes up $50, it seems.

    Redonkulous.

    Quite. I feel ya. -m

Changing my travel dates from March 15-19 to March 14-18 got me my R/T ticket at $408. The cheapest I could find for the original dates? Was $546. “Saved” myself almost $140 this way, which means I’ll be able to EAT while I’m in DC!

Mush, I done same! I went a day earlier cos I figured “Well, I don’t earn that much in a day so I’ll take the day off – more values!” Why work to earn it and then spend it on a more expensive flight? But I done an awesome trick to save $300 which I’m writing into a post right now.

So totally stoked you’re all confirmed for the GBM! Can’t wait to meet you. Mr V, 2c and I are talking about it right now. You arrive same airport, same time as 2c so he’s gonna go down on someone to convince then to come and collect you dudes!

    See ya soon!

It pleases me immensely to know that Vuboq’s willing to suck dick to get us a ride from the airport. Saves me the price of a cab! Suppose I’ll have to buy him some booze for his efforts. -m
